Churches and Ministries Recognising the Sparrows Certificate

Because the harvest is plentiful, the workers are few, and recognition helps remove barriers so workers can be trained, equipped, and sent quickly into the field.

The Sparrows Certificate provides the exact same teaching, the exact same learning outcomes, the exact same assessments, the exact same academic standards, and the exact same formation experience as government-accredited diploma study.

THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THIS:

Sparrows College does not pay the government accreditation transaction for the Certificate stream unless it is specifically required later.

This does not reduce learning quality, depth, or rigour.

It simply removes an administrative cost that does not affect a student’s training or ministry capability.

If a graduate later needs formal government accreditation for employment, denominational requirements, or further study, Sparrows College will make that accreditation payment on their behalf at that time.

This is not about saving money.

It is about using resources more effectively for the mission: redirecting administrative fees into training, discipleship, and releasing workers.

FUTURE DENOMINATIONAL RECOGNITION

We are actively working toward formal recognition at the denominational level, enabling entire movements and networks to affirm the Sparrows Certificate as a legitimate, trusted training pathway for ministry formation and leadership development.
 
Denominational partners will play a key role in releasing trained workers into the harvest.

WHY RECOGNITION MATTERS

Recognition is not administrative. It is missional.

When churches recognise the Sparrows Certificate, they:

• Affirm a training pathway that is identical in quality and content to government-accredited diploma study
• Multiply pathways for volunteers, interns, leaders, and emerging ministers
• Remove financial barriers that hold back potential workers
• Partner with Sparrows College to release more labourers into the harvest field
• Redirect resources from administrative transactions directly into mission
• Help answer Jesus’ prayer for more workers

Recognition gets more workers into the field. That is the mission.

BENEFITS FOR STUDENTS

Students completing the Sparrows Certificate receive:

• The exact same theological education as government-accredited diploma students
• The same lecturers, readings, assessments, standards, support, and formation
• Real ministry experience through their local church
•  Placement, mentoring, and leadership pathways
• A fully funded and barrier-free training experience
• The option for government accreditation later, paid by Sparrows College if needed

The only thing missing is the government transaction – not the education.

WHAT “RECOGNITION” MEANS

Recognition may include:

• Treating the Sparrows Certificate as equivalent to diploma-level ministry training
• Recommending it for volunteers, emerging leaders, and ministry interns
• Accepting completion as preparation for ministry roles or leadership responsibilities
• Encouraging students to study while serving
• Partnering with Sparrows College for mentoring, supervision, or placement support
